Dan and Sonja have resided in the Magic Valley since 1979.  They own and operate the Travelers’ Oasis Truck Plaza, Flags West Truck Stop, and along with their boys, Troy and Mont, operate thirteen Oasis Stop ‘N Go Convenience Stores scattered throughout the Magic Valley.  With partners, they invested two thousand dollars upon moving to Twin Falls in 1979, and leveraged the rest of their investments. Dan and Sonja owned and operated Oasis Food and Spirits from 1983 until selling it in 2006.  In April 2008 they made their biggest commitment yet to the Magic Valley by building a long needed facility to cater to meetings and conventions that until now have bypassed Twin Falls.

Canyon Crest Dining and Event facility is over 21,000 square feet, and truly sits on the crest of the beautiful Snake River Canyon. While overlooking Canyon Springs Golf Course, Blue Lakes Country Club, and Centennial Park, the facility has an awesome view of the river and the Perrine Bridge, a destination for Base jumpers from around the world.

Dan serves on the Board of Directors of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Magic Valley and has  served two terms as their president.  He hosts an annual golf tournament held on three golf courses, with over five hundred participants, and has become a major fund raiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs.  The tournament, along with the banquet/auction netted over $100,000 for the Clubs last year.  Dan and Sonja have been avid supporters of the clubs and donated a wing on the Twin Falls club facility to house administrative offices so that the club could expand to other locations around the valley.  Hosting these events sparked the idea to build the large event center.  Dan and Sonja believe in supporting the community, and having whatever money is spent stay in the valley.

Dan currently has built a team of managers and employees at Canyon Crest that provides the dining experience that the Magic Valley deserves.  Come in and enjoy “The Canyon Experience”.
